Editorial Policy

RidOfMyCar.com publishes content to help Georgia vehicle owners make informed decisions about selling junk, damaged, or unwanted vehicles. This page describes our standards for accuracy, transparency, and the process we follow when creating and maintaining that content.

Last updated: June 2025

Our Content Mission

Our goal is to give Georgia vehicle owners clear, honest, actionable information about junk car sales — including realistic pricing, accurate legal information, and straightforward explanations of our own policies and process.

We are a junk car buying business, not a neutral media publisher. Our content serves two purposes simultaneously: helping vehicle owners understand their options, and communicating what we offer. We acknowledge this conflict of interest openly and address it by committing to accuracy and transparency even when the honest answer is unfavorable to our own commercial interests.

Accuracy Standards

Pricing information

Pricing ranges published on this site reflect our actual offer calculations — vehicle weight × scrap metal price ± parts and condition adjustments. We do not publish inflated ranges to attract clicks. When scrap prices change materially, we update affected pages. See our Pricing Methodology for the full calculation framework.

Legal and regulatory information

Pages covering Georgia title law, no-title sales, and DMV procedures cite the relevant statute (primarily O.C.G.A. Title 40) or official Georgia DOR guidance. We do not provide legal advice. For unusual ownership situations, we recommend consulting an attorney or the Georgia DOR directly.

Vehicle technical information

Vehicle weight data, engine specifications, and known reliability issues are sourced from manufacturer documentation, NHTSA data, and repair industry sources. Technical claims are reviewed against available evidence before publication.

Superlatives and comparisons

We avoid unsupported claims such as "highest paying" or "best in Georgia" unless we can explain the comparison methodology. When we use competitive positioning language, we describe the basis for the comparison.

Content Creation Process

    1
    Research

Each page begins with research into the topic: customer questions, relevant Georgia law or regulation, vehicle specifications, and typical market conditions.

    2
    Drafting

Content is written by our operations team or reviewed by them after initial drafting. Writers have direct experience with the junk car buying process in Georgia.

    3
    Review

Pages covering pricing, legal information, or process policies are reviewed by a second team member before publication. Legal claims are checked against current Georgia statutes.

    4
    Publication

Pages are published with a stated review date. Pricing, legal, and policy pages include a 'Last reviewed' note visible to readers.

    5
    Maintenance

We operate a three-tier content refresh schedule: high-traffic pages quarterly, brand/model/condition pages annually, and long-tail content on an 18-month cycle.

What We Do Not Do

We do not publish pages with swapped city or model names and no unique content.
We do not publish AI-generated content without fact-checking, local detail, and human review.
We do not create fake reviews or instruct employees to pose as customers.
We do not use schema markup (FAQ, Review) on pages where the visible content does not support it.
We do not buy backlinks or participate in link schemes.
We do not publish pricing that we cannot support with a real offer.

Corrections and Updates

If you find an error on this site — a pricing figure that does not match our actual offers, a legal reference that is out of date, or a factual claim about a vehicle that is incorrect — please contact us at (678) 490-7989 or through our contact page.

We review and correct substantive errors promptly. We do not retroactively remove content to hide pricing that changed over time; instead, we update pages with the new information and the review date.
